Senior Players Code of Conduct

Mynydd Isa Football Club supports the Football Association of Wales’ ‘Behind the Line, Behind the Team’ campaign and is committed to a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment for everyone involved in football.

As a senior player, you represent Mynydd Isa Football Club on and off the pitch. Your behaviour should reflect the values of the club and help create a positive experience for teammates, opponents, officials, volunteers and supporters.

By signing this Code of Conduct, you confirm that you understand and agree to uphold the standards below. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action by the club.

As a Senior Player, I will:

  • Show respect to officials, coaches, teammates, opponents, volunteers and spectators.
  • Accept match officials’ decisions without dissent or abuse.
  • Shake hands with opponents and match officials after matches where appropriate.
  • Take responsibility for my behaviour, attitude and performance.
  • Treat everyone equally and help create an inclusive, welcoming environment.
  • Support and encourage teammates, including new players.
  • Report safeguarding concerns or inappropriate behaviour to the Senior Safeguarding Officer.
  • Attend training and matches when possible and inform the management team as early as possible if unavailable.
  • Arrive on time, prepared and ready to contribute.
  • Accept selection and substitutions professionally.
  • Play fairly, follow the Laws of the Game and uphold the spirit of football.
  • Avoid dangerous play and never use violent, abusive, threatening, discriminatory or offensive language, behaviour or gestures.
  • Respect club and opposition facilities, equipment and property, and help keep them clean and tidy.
  • Never attend training or matches under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
  • Use social media responsibly and avoid anything that could bring the club or the game into disrepute.
  • Follow all Football Association of Wales, league and club rules, including betting, anti-corruption and anti-doping regulations.
  • Report any approach, request or suspicion relating to match-fixing, betting or corruption immediately to your Team Manager and the Club Secretary.
  • Make every reasonable effort to attend post-match refreshments and social gatherings to help build team spirit.
  • Be a positive role model and represent Mynydd Isa Football Club with pride at all times.

Disciplinary Action

Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action by Mynydd Isa Football Club. Depending on the nature and severity of the breach, this may include verbal or written warnings, suspension, removal from selection, termination of club membership, and/or referral to the Football Association of Wales or the relevant league where appropriate.
