Rhian Wilkinson Visits MIFC Ahead of Cymru vs Sweden Clash

Mynydd Isa Football Club was honoured to welcome Cymru Women’s Head Coach Rhian Wilkinson for a special visit, ahead of the highly anticipated UEFA Women’s Nations League match against Sweden at STōK Cae Ras.

With over 3,000 group tickets sold for the fixture, our club has played a significant role in supporting the team, securing 130 tickets for players, parents, and supporters. In recognition of this, Wilkinson took the time to meet with our young footballers, share her insights, and express her gratitude for the incredible backing from grassroots football.

During her visit, Wilkinson spoke passionately about the importance of community involvement in football, encouraging young players to dream big and stay committed to their development. She took part in a Q&A session, answering questions about her playing career, coaching journey, and Cymru’s preparations for the Sweden match.

“It’s fantastic to see the enthusiasm from clubs like Mynydd Isa,” Wilkinson said. “The support from North Wales is vital for the growth of women’s football, and it’s inspiring to meet young players who are so passionate about the game.”

The visit created an unforgettable experience for our players, who had the opportunity to take photos, get autographs, and hear first-hand about the dedication required to compete at the highest level.

As we look forward to cheering on Cymru in their crucial match, Mynydd Isa FC is proud to be part of a growing movement to promote and support women’s football. We encourage all our members to get behind the team and make their voices heard at STōK Cae Ras.
